The ex-Chairman of the Cape Falconry Club (CFC) is also a Veterinarian who specializes in raptors. Eagle Encounters, in conjunction with the CFC, intends drawing blood samples from all the various species of healthy raptors. These samples will then be laboratory-tested and their components documented, to be used as a control against which the blood from diseased raptors may be analysed for accurate diagnosis. These same blood samples would further provide important genetic information. This is a pilot project, the invaluable results of which could be utilized worldwide.
