Eagle Encounters operates directly under the rules and regulations laid down by Cape Nature. We are also an active member of organisations such as the Cape Nature Honorary Rangers; the Western Cape Raptor Rehabilitation Forum (run by Cape Nature in conjunction with ornithologists and raptor researchers from the University of Cape Town’s Percy FitzPatrick Institute and the Cape Falconry Club); Raptor (a private organisation in Natal responsible for erecting wild nest sites – founded by Hank’s father); SAFRING (responsible for counting, ringing and recording released and wild raptors) and The Bird of Prey Working Group which is actively involved in all aspects of raptor scientific research and conservation.
